Venezuela estimates making alliances with other nations for the production of the Venezuelan molecule DR10, which was recently presented to the World Health Organization (WHO) for certification, announced this Wednesday the President of the Republic Nicolás Maduro, during a virtual conference with International Media, from the Miraflores Palace.
“It is a great finding, it is great news from Venezuela to the world (…), once we have the approval of the World Health Organization, we will make alliances with Russia, China, India and Cuba to produce this medicine for our country and the world ”, he pointed out.
"This DR10 molecule comes from a plant, is extracted, and is administered in syrup form, which helps neutralize the effects of COVID-19," he explained.
He explained that this molecule is completely natural and has passed the first phase of experiments; "it has the scientific name DR10, but it must first comply with all the tests and protocols of the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), before entering the mass production stage, at which point it will have a commercial name. We are taking steps to report the process with all scientific rigor," Maduro explained.
President Maduro recalled that last Sunday the Venezuelan Institute for Scientific Research (IVIC) certified studies on the DR10 molecule. This produces the total elimination of covid-19 without generating toxicity that affects healthy molecules in the body or generates collateral effects, he said.
"The study lasted six months, and the molecule has previously been used against hepatitis C, human papillomavirus (HPV), Ebola, and other diseases," he noted.
Pharmaceutical products for all
"Venezuela expresses its interest in continuing to buy all effective medicines, to the whole world, to deliver it free of charge to the people of Venezuela," he said.
Maduro emphasized that the government intends to continue purchasing medicines abroad to combat COVID-19. "We are in talks with the Russian and Chinese governments to be able to purchase vaccines in the first quarter of 2021 and supply them free of charge to our entire population," he added.
He recalled that the country is in the process of applying the first 2.000 Russian vaccines, there are 2 doses, in the same way he said that they are in permanent talks with the Governments of Russia and China to be able to buy vaccines in the first quarter of 2021 and provide them free of charge to our entire population, he said.
He reiterated that Venezuela has given the green light for international flights, "on several of them we have brought medicine against COVID-19, spare parts for refineries," the dignitary said.
The president reported that Phase III of the Russian vaccine against covid-19 "Sputnik V" is advancing in Venezuela with the participation of two thousand volunteers.
On October 19, the former president of Honduras, Manuel Zelaya, joined the clinical trial phase of the vaccine as a volunteer.
