CNE receives exploratory commission from the Carter Center

Last week, 2 memorandums of understanding were signed to consolidate the transparency of the elections to be held this July 28 in Venezuela

On the way to holding the next presidential elections in the country, the president of the National Electoral Council (CNE), Elvis Amoroso, received the exploratory commission of the Carter Center, as an international observer in the elections.

It should be noted that last week 2 memorandums of understanding were signed to consolidate the transparency of the elections to be held this July 28 in Venezuela.

The Carter Center acts as an observer in electoral processes, plays the role of mediator in international crises, and reinforces national, regional and international systems dedicated to democracy and human rights.

Likewise, the delegation of the Mission of the Exploratory Commission of the European Union (EU) in Venezuela was received at the headquarters of the Electoral Branch, ahead of the presidential elections on July 28, 2024.

This commission was received this Tuesday by the president of the CNE, Elvis Amoroso, along with the rectors of the electoral body.

Last Thursday, April 11, the president of the National Electoral Council (CNE), Elvis Amoroso, signed a memorandum of understanding with the highest authority of the Council of Electoral Experts of Latin America (Ceela), Nicanor Moscoso, and the representative of the Thought Observatory Strategic for Regional Integration (OPEIR), Carlos López López, with the purpose of guaranteeing the transparency of the presidential elections that will take place on July 28 of the current year.

From the main headquarters of the electoral body, the president of the CNE highlighted the importance of legal compliance with the regulations of the Constitution of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.

“The Constitution clearly establishes that the presidential election will be held every six years, and reinforced with the Barbados Agreement and the great Caracas Agreement, approved unanimously.”
