The members of the Democratic Unitary Platform (PUD) are happy that the Supreme Court of Justice has ratified the political disqualification of the far-right leader María Corina Machado, said the first vice president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello.
During the party's regular weekly press conference, Cabello emphasized this Monday that the country's highest court's decision removes "an internal problem" from the opposition.
"That PUD are sovereign hypocrites. They're celebrating, they're happy because justice is acting and removing a problem they have from their hands. Let them solve their political problem; the Supreme Court of Justice is solving the judicial problem," he stated, while asserting that neither in the United States nor in any other country in the world would any political spokesperson be allowed to call for action against their nation, as Machado has done.
In this regard, the socialist leader criticized that those representatives of the extreme right who in the past rejected the Barbados agreement, now want to use it as an argument to have the sanctions imposed on them for being involved in crimes against the country lifted.
"They denied dialogue, they denied President Nicolás Maduro, and now they want to sit down with him. Life is a mess. These are the same people who plan coups. They have always believed that the Barbados agreement meant capitulation. How many times have we said we will not capitulate? We will not capitulate to anyone," he emphasized.
He emphasized that the United States government has not fulfilled any of its commitments, which is why "the agreements are mortally wounded." He added that imperialism likes to interfere in the internal affairs of countries, and those who do not abide by its dictates turn from threats to actions.
"They've done everything to us. What else can they do? Drop a bomb on us, invade us? They know that comes at a very high cost to them," he emphasized.
Take out the supreme commander
Cabello denounced that among the opposition's terrorist plans were those to remove the mortal remains of the Supreme Commander, Hugo Chávez, from the Mountain Barracks.
"They say they would remove Commander Chávez from the mountain barracks because, according to them, he doesn't do anything there. They're wrong; from there, he watches over us, advises us, and protects us," Cabello asserted during his regular weekly press conference.
