Defense Minister Vladimir Padrino López announced the arrival in Venezuela this Saturday of the ocean-going research vessel "Admiral Vladimirsky" of the Russian Baltic Fleet, as part of military cooperation between the two countries.
Through his social media accounts, Padrino López revealed the arrival of the Russian ship to the Port of La Guaira. It's worth noting that the Russian training ship "Smolniy" also arrived in Venezuela in August 2024 as part of a working visit.
The Venezuelan Defense Minister recalled that in March of this year, both nations celebrated 80 years of establishing diplomatic relations.
With the arrival of the late former President Hugo Chávez in 1999, ties between the two nations strengthened, and currently, under President Nicolás Maduro, strategic alliances with Russia are growing.
