This Saturday, the National Executive reported that in the last 24 hours in Venezuela, 249 new cases were registered due to community transmission covid-19, 101 imported cases, 1 case due to contact with a traveler, and 1 deceased.
Executive Vice President Delcy Rodríguez presented the topics addressed at the meeting of the Presidential Commission for Prevention and Combat to Covid-19, and the Minister of Health, Carlos Alvarado detailed the cases by entity for a total of 5.130 cases across the country.
In this sense, Alvarado's minister pointed out that the new cases are located in 14 states. At the rate of: 143 in Zulia, 65 in Miranda, 35 in Bolívar; 34 in the Capital District; 25 in Sucre, 15 in Monagas; 11 in Merida; 7 in Trujillo, 4 in Nueva Esparta, 3 in Apure; 3 in Aragua; 3 in Yaracuy; 2 in Anzoátegui and 1 in Lara.
Of the cases in Zulia, he said, there are 142 cases of community transmission, 120 of these are linked to the central area of Maracaibo and the Flea Market, and 22 are in municipalities outside Maracaibo, but "they have to do with traffic and business with that market: Cabimas, Lagunillas, Machiques and Santa Rita," he noted.
For his part, Rodríguez, who said that more than 300 people have been recovered in the last few hours, said that as of today 1 million 219 thousand 651 tests have been applied in the country, which represents 40 thousand 655 tests per million of population.
With regard to the deceased, the vice president explained that it is a 73-year-old pediatrician from the state of Merida, who was in the forefront fighting the virus, attending to and curing patients. But one of the infected patients in El Vigía affected him.
Because the medical professional suffered from hypertension and asthma, among other ailments, on June 12 he began to show symptoms and was admitted to a sentinel hospital, where he died in Intensive Care due to respiratory arrest.
The vice president, on behalf of the National Government, expressed her appreciation and admiration for this doctor who died in combat, and in the same way to all the health personnel who are battling against the coronavirus. With this death, the number of deceased rises to 42.
Of the 101 imported cases, Rodríguez specified that 82 come from Colombia and 16 from Brazil, 3 from Ecuador, which are located in Mérida, Bolívar, Monagas, Sucre, Trujillo, Nueva Esparta, Apure, Aragua, Anzoátegui and Zulia.
He highlighted that the case of infection by international contact is a 28-year-old man from the Pemón ethnic group, in the Gran Sabana municipality (Bolívar), where a group of indigenous people have been used to cross clandestine trails from Brazil.
Rodríguez said that an outbreak of the virus is occurring as a result of the arrival of compatriots, who come from countries where the necessary sanitary measures have not been taken, such as Brazil and Colombia.
“The Colombian coronavirus is infecting cases in Venezuela. Brazil is also impacting the country's situation, ”he warned, denouncing that they are the main vectors that drive the appearance of the coronavirus in national territory.
"We had been warning it: the threat from Colombia and Brazil, neighboring countries where they have irresponsibly handled the pandemic," he claimed.
That is why - he said - that President Nicolás Maduro asked the governors and mayors to concentrate their management agenda on the preservation of the health of the people to guarantee protection and cut the chain of contagion.
In this sense, he also reported that by presidential order special temporary strategic zones will be created in the states of Táchira and Zulia for those compatriots who enter through the trails.
On this point, the strategic operational commander, Remigio Ceballos indicated that the Comprehensive, Temporary and Special Defense Operational Zones will be installed in the Mara and Guajira del Zulia municipalities (Urdaneta 1); while in Táchira the Rondón 1 Operational Zone will be established, in the García de Hevia and Ayacucho municipalities, with extension to other municipalities. Both will coordinate activities between state organs and entities and local authorities.
Ceballos emphasized that the measure was taken "to bring the offenders to justice."

The government reporting the cases and implementing the measures... but at the same time I have not seen that they provide the population with face masks, gloves, alcohol gel and less to the prioritized sectors, its duty as a government is to protect its people and provide it with these implements.
