How proud we are to have had a President of the stature of Hugo Chávez Frías and to now have his political son, Nicolás Maduro Moros, as the first Chavista President of Venezuela from the PSUV (Spanish Socialist Workers' Party), in perfect alliance with the Great Patriotic Pole. How proud we are to be able to raise, through our PSUV, the banners of peace, humanism, feminism, gender equality, patriotism, participatory and protagonist democracy, highlighting our values and the idiosyncrasies of our peoples and our history; for we must know where we come from, where we are, and where we are going.
How proud we should feel to be the true protagonists of this moment in the history of Venezuela and the world, a history in which we are living as key players, where an economic and fourth-generation war is being waged to seize the nation's resources, a fourth-generation war where the main weapons used by the North American empire are the media and class struggle. We are an example to follow for many countries around the world; for we are a revolution that refuses to give up and declares that we can be free, sovereign, and independent.
Let us therefore continue to feel proud of who we are and what we represent as a party for future generations; which is why we emphasize the battle cry given by José Félix Ribas in 1814 at the Battle of La Victoria when he said: "We cannot choose between victory and death, victory is necessary!"
