The Simón Bolívar Training Ship (BE-11) docked this Thursday, September 3, at the port of Playa Valdez, Mariño municipality of Nueva Esparta state, to join the solemn acts dedicated to the patron saint of eastern Venezuela, fishermen and the Bolivarian Navy.
The arrival of the emblematic “Ambassador without Borders” is one of the most attractive events for residents and tourists during this year's religious and cultural program, framed under the motto “Star of the Sea” and coordinated in conjunction with the regional Executive.
As is tradition, the flagship opened its doors to the public, offering guided tours. The agreed-upon schedule for the ship's stay is as follows:
• Thursday 3: 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm
• Friday 4th: 9:00 am to 3:00 pm
• Saturday 5: 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm
• Sunday 6: 9:00 am to 6:00 pm
• Monday 7: 9:00 am to 4:00 pm
The Bolivarian Navy's sailing ship fulfills the fundamental function of training cadets from the Bolivarian Navy Military Academy, as well as projecting the country's institutional presence in international ports and strengthening diplomatic and cooperation relations with naval forces of other nations.
