Second Comprehensive Veterinary Center opens in Nueva Esparta

The new facility will offer daily care services for dogs and cats.

In the Antonio Díaz municipality of Nueva Esparta, the second Comprehensive Veterinary Center of the Nevado Mission was inaugurated, with the objective of guaranteeing free care to companion animals and strengthening the animal protection network in the region.

The event was led by the mayor of the jurisdiction, Kendy Graterol, along with Osnerj Becerra, national director of Articulation of the Nevado Mission, and Wuilson Tovar, coordinator of the mission in the island entity.

Community-based medical services

The new facility will offer daily veterinary care for dogs and cats. Among the care and preventative services for pets are: routine checkups and diagnosis of common illnesses, deworming programs, wound treatment, emergency care, spaying and neutering, and surgeries.

Mayor Kendy Graterol emphasized that the completion of this center responds to a commitment made directly to the requests of the residents during territorial tours.

"Anyone who has a pet knows what this means. For those of us who love our animals, adopting or bringing a pet home is like taking on the commitment of another child," Graterol stated during the opening ceremony, highlighting the social and emotional dimension that animal health represents within homes.

This space is in addition to the existing headquarters in the La Arboleda sector (Mariño municipality), expanding the response capacity in the entity.

Although located in the Cerro Purulú Commune, the facility will serve several municipalities in the western part of Margarita Island, such as Tubores, Macanao Peninsula, Marcano, and Gómez. In addition, the infrastructure includes a community self-governance center, a community police station, and a community market developed through community consultations.
