San Felipe Mobile Clinic records 3.150 ultrasounds

The mobile unit travels through the capital's communities and performs free high-level ultrasounds and imaging exams for the population.

The Mobile Clinic of the Mayor's Office of San Felipe, in the state of Yaracuy, equipped with high-tech ultrasound equipment, has performed 3.150 free ultrasound examinations so far this year for those who have needed them.

The mayor of the jurisdiction, Rogger Daza, reported this Saturday that the ultrasound sessions are carried out on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays at the headquarters of the Mayor's Office of San Felipe, and on Saturdays in the communities, in conjunction with the itinerant operations of health that they take with them on the weekends.

He explained that each specialized exam, in private clinics, can have different costs that vary between 20 and 80 dollars, depending on its complexity.

In this sense, he said that thanks to this service the people in general have saved more than 76.500 dollars. This is very significant, considering that many people do not have the necessary resources to pay for the corresponding examinations in private health centers.

The local president recalled that the Mobile Clinic's modern ultrasound machine with Doppler, 3D and 4D technology has the capacity to perform specialized imaging examinations.

The team carries out more than 15 different studies, including echoes of the pancreas, gallbladder, liver, kidneys, bladder, thyroid, obstetric, axillary, inguinal, soft tissues, musculoskeletal, vascular and prostate.

Medical personnel specialized in ultrasound studies perform the examinations and make the corresponding diagnoses, as part of the city council's comprehensive health plan, which involves different disciplines.

“This is advanced ultrasound equipment that we acquired last year thanks to the support of President Nicolás Maduro and Governor Julio León, who approved the resources to continue addressing the health needs of our people in an effective, free and timely manner.” Daza stressed.

The Mobile Clinic not only assists residents of San Felipe, but also those who come from other municipalities, even other states, who need to have their ultrasound exams performed. There are no exclusions of any kind.

A grateful people

Meanwhile, Eustaquio Morales, from the central Cantarrana sector of San Felipe, highlighted that thanks to the Mobile Clinic and its advanced ultrasound services he was able to have a prostate echo, which ruled out any possible anomaly.

“Two months ago they sent me to do that exam, but I really hadn't been able to do it because I didn't have the 40 dollars that the clinic asked me to do it. I was scared because time was passing without having a sure diagnosis, but thanks to the mayor's conference I was able to do it and rule out any prostate problem; “I am very happy about that,” Morales mentioned.

For her part, Andreina Fuentes, a resident of the Las Acequias sector of the Cocorote municipality, went to one of the mayor's sessions to have a breast study and review her health situation. She commented that she developed some small cysts, which she will begin to treat with the corresponding treatments.

“This clinic is wonderful, it is a great advantage for those of us who cannot go to a clinic to pay for an ultrasound and the corresponding consultations. It is a service that we truly appreciate and that we will defend to the end; “We cannot afford to lose him, that will not happen,” Fuentes stated.
