More than 200 fishing grandparents received comprehensive care in Cumaná

Grandparents received health and food care in a day held in the community of San Luis

In Cumaná, Sucre state; Approximately 250 fishing grandparents received health and food care during the social event “More years, more love,” held in the community of San Luis.

This was reported by Nazareth Peinado, regional coordinator of social prevention of the Simón Bolívar Front of Fishermen, Aquaculturists and Related Activities, who highlighted that the day is part of the Great Mission of Grandfathers and Grandmothers of the Homeland.

“This activity is a celebration for fishing grandfathers and grandmothers, based on the lines that our president Nicolás Maduro has given us. It is about comprehensive health care, food and recreation to provide our grandparents with a different and pleasant day,” said Peinado.

Peinado explained that the fundamental objective of the day was to embrace and provide love to these grandparents, who dedicated their lives to contributing to the productive and economic development of the nation.

“With this activity we hug the grandparents and give a drop of love to repay them for all the effort and commitment they have had to our country. That is why we have joined these days that allow us to hug them and provide them with health care, food, delivery of medicines and technical aid to those who require it," said the official.

Institutions such as the National Institute of Nutrition (INN), the National Council for People with Disabilities (Conapdis), the Somos Venezuela Movement, the José Gregorio Hernández Mission, and the Food Markets (Mercal), among others, participated in this deployment of social care.

“We have all the support and backing of the Missions and Great Missions and a group of institutions that have been integrated, to provide happiness and tranquility to our older adults,” he said.

In this context, Peinado assured that this day will be extended to the fishing communities of the region, with the aim of continuing to strengthen the protection of the fishing grandfathers and grandmothers of the entity.
