Arrest warrants in force against four uniformed officers

The arrest warrants were issued on October 26, 2023 by the 11th Control Court of Zulia

The arrest warrants remain in force against three officials of the Bolivarian National Police (PNB) and one of the Bolivarian National Guard (GNB) accused of two deaths with firearms.

According to sources from the justice system, the police officers on whom the arrest warrants are issued are: Renan David Rodríguez Barreto, Rafael Alejandro Moreno Chacín, Yelvis José Ojitos Ferrer as well as GNB agent Ángel Ritzon Ferrer Torres, to whom They charge the alleged commission of the crimes of homicide qualified with treachery, conspiracy and improper use of an organic weapon.

The arrest warrants were issued on October 26, 2023 by the 11th Control Court of Zulia led by Judge Dhuglysmar Cristalino Morales, file 11C-S-3551-2022.

It appears that those orders remain on file but have not been released for execution.

The events in which Ferrer, Rodríguez, Moreno and Ojitos committed such crimes occurred on November 26, 2021 during a procedure carried out in Santa Rosa de Agua, Maracaibo municipality (Zulia), where Maikel González and Klinyobell Albornoz were killed. , according to reports.

Investigations by the 54th Prosecutor's Office of Zulia (MP-239650-2021) indicate that no such confrontation allegedly occurred but they supposedly arranged the minutes to present it as such.

In that sense, the officials who signed these minutes are identified as Cristian Mejías, Brenda Beltrán, Jorge Adrianza, Luis Villalobos, Rafael Piña, Yendry Gutiérrez, Oflis Navas, Levis Ortega, Alvin Blanco and Oscar José Fuenmayor Suárez.
