A soldier was murdered during an operation against criminal gangs carried out on Sunday in the La Trinidad sector, José Félix Ribas municipality (Tucupido), Guárico, according to versions collected.

At first, a mixed commission, composed of agents from the Bolivarian National Guard and police from the Guárico state, was deployed in the Juagual sector of the aforementioned Guariqueño municipality where they captured three members of the criminal group that operates in that area and which is linked to the Llano Train, according to investigations.

And when the mixed police-military commission comes back from the aforementioned rural area, it is ambushed by the criminal group in the urban sector of La Trinidad. From that scuffle, two of the three detainees that the commission was carrying were killed by firearms, identified as Joel Sánchez Solórzano (21) and Willianny del Valle Herrera Perdomo (15). The latter's mother, Anny Carolina Perdomo Ojeda (42), was injured.

The third sergeant major (GNB), Ronald José Graterol Gervez, and the chief inspector of Poliguárico, Edison Durán, were also injured by projectile impacts. The soldier died when he was being transferred to a health center.

This deployment carried out last Sunday occurred after an armed attack carried out by a criminal group against a graduation party that took place on Saturday on Ricaurte Street in Tucupido.

Armed individuals arrived at the site and shot, causing the death at the scene of Carlos Eduardo Belisario Guerra, a 53-year-old agricultural producer. Andry Jail Rivera Rebolledo (20) was also injured in that shooting.

In another incident, last Monday, June 3, human remains were found on the banks of the Tamanaco dam, located in the José Leonardo Infante municipality (Valle de la Pascua), a neighbor of Tucupido.

The investigations showed that the human remains correspond to Osmel José Romero Villasana (18), nicknamed La Muerte, a member of the Antonio criminal gang, an alleged cell of the Tren del Llano.
