Court decreed deprivation of liberty for the mayor of Tachira

Yonnhy Lizcano is charged with: appropriation of public assets, delay or intentional omission of functions, illegal use in acts of Public Administration and aggregation

The 7th Court of Control of Táchira decreed deprivation of liberty for the mayor of the Ayacucho municipality (San Juan de Colón), Yonnhy Lizcano Quintero, for acts of corruption, according to legal sources.

Quintero was apprehended by officials of the Bolivarian National Police and handed over to the Public Ministry, whose prosecutors charged him before the aforementioned court.

The crimes charged are: appropriation or distraction of public property, delay or intentional omission of functions, illegal use in acts of the Public Administration and aggregation.

But in addition to that file, Quintero appears in an investigation related to acts aimed at chaoticizing the Táchira border with Colombia, according to judicial sources.

The investigations show that Quintero and other regional leaders of an opposition party had contacted a group of paramilitaries to begin burning the entire northern area of ​​the Táchira state, adjacent to Cúcuta, Colombia, a source revealed.
