Prosecutor Saab: in Venezuela the presumption of innocence prevails from the beginning of the investigation

The Attorney General of the Republic, Tarek William Saab, pointed out that human rights violations, “in Venezuela this is a highly serious crime that has practically no redemption privileges.”

Tarek William Saab, who participated as a speaker at the XII Saint Petersburg International Legal Forum, on its second consecutive day, reiterated that in the Venezuelan nation, the Constitution provides people who, even when being investigated for crimes, are protected with their rights and guarantees.

The highest authority of the Public Ministry highlighted in Venezuela the presumption of innocence prevails from the beginning of the investigation, "that is, before and during the criminal process, in our system there is full guarantee of this right."

It is worth mentioning that in the context of his intense work agenda in Russia, he analyzed the topic "Alternatives to detention in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela" at the 12th International Legal Forum in Saint Petersburg, where representatives from more than 81 countries attended this week with a total of 4 thousand international guests.
