Members of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) dismantled a citadel made up of 84 structures for illegal mining that served as clandestine accommodations and logistical warehouses for environmental depredation in the jungle area of ​​the country.

This was reported by the Strategic Operational Commander, Domingo Hernandez Larez this Thursday on his account on the social network X, in which he noted that the actions were carried out as part of Operation Caura 2024.

“For the protection of the human species on the planet, as well as the environment, flora and fauna present, FANB is deployed in “Operation Caura 2024” locating and dismantling a citadel-type invasion of illegal mining, built in the middle of the jungle, lacking all types of services and constituting a polluting factor in the middle of the jungle thicket, made up of 84 illegal mining structures that served as clandestine accommodations and logistical warehouses for the environmental predation and open pit mining in national security areas” he published on the social network.

In this regard, the senior military officer stressed that these actions are marked in the Bolivarian Constitution of Venezuela, in the 5th strategic objective of the Homeland Plan, the 7 Transformations, Territorial Planning Law, Environmental Law, Water Law, as well such as national security and defense plans, among others

Likewise, he recalled the co-responsibility of citizens in the conservation of national parks and monuments, forest reserves, hydraulic and biosphere reserves.
