With this procedure, there are already 22.559,315 tons of drugs seized so far in 2024

A total of 2.430 kilos of cocaine were seized in a joint operation between French and Venezuelan authorities, reported the Minister of the Interior, Remigio Ceballos.

The operation was carried out in international waters adjacent to Nueva Esparta where the fishing vessel Aleppo was sunk after the seizure. Ceballos explained that the drugs were hidden in compartments of said ship.

The 10 occupants of the Aleppo, of Venezuelan nationality, were detained, highlighted the Minister who specified that the shipment is in the custody of the Venezuelan authorities.

This Monday the meeting between the Bolivarian Navy Ship Kariña PO-14 and a French ship took place, in accordance with what international agreements say, Ceballos indicated.

With this procedure, there are already 22.559,315 tons of drugs seized this year, Ceballos said. “This figure brings us closer to the amount seized last year during the same period, that is, between January and May,” he said.
