Toys for Bob makes official the agreement with Microsoft for its next game

No details of the new project are known, beyond the fact that it is in a very early development stage.

During the first quarter of this year, Toys for Bob, the developer behind the new Spyro and Crash Bandicoot games, They left Activision to become a completely independent studio, this allowed them to become a remote development team and be able to work on their own projects after remaining as a support studio for Call of Duty.

After parting ways, it was reported that the studio was in talks with Microsoft to develop a new game, now as an independent studio and now it's finally official.

“We are excited to announce that we will be partnering with Xbox to publish our next new game,” The study said. “We're still very early in development, so you may not hear from us for a while, but know that we're working hard on an experience that inspires us greatly! “I can’t wait to share more.”

It is important to mention that the project is in a very early stage of development, so we will not have news for some time.

What will be the next Toys for Bob game?

Founded in 1989 developing games such as Star Control, Pandemoniom and The Unholy War before being acquired by Activision in 2005.

For the seventh generation of consoles they began with the Skylanders franchise that lasted for 5 years through 4 installments that reached all platforms. In 2020 they had the honor of bringing back Crash Bandicoot, the iconic PlayStation mascot of that time (since it now belongs to Xbox) with N. Sane Trilogy, a remake of the original games.

This was followed by the remake of the first three Spyro games with Reignited Trilogy, Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time and finally Crash Team Rumble released for consoles in 2023... all this without mentioning that the California studio has helped with development from the Call of Duty series.

Although Toys for Bob has great IP's in its library such as Spyro and Crash Bandicoot, it would not be illogical to think that the partnership with Xbox focuses on bringing back other iconic console characters and games such as Banjo Kazooie, Viva Piñata or even a new IP.
