Stellar Blade adds new Boss Challenge mode and more outfits

New mode allows players to once again take on the game's 19 bosses in multiple configurations

Via the PlayStation Blog, Shift Up director Kim Hyung Tae announced in detail what is coming in Stellar Blade patch 1.0003 which includes several bug fixes and quality of life improvements, as well as a new Boss Challenge mode and new outfits for Eve, the protagonist of the game.

The new mode allows players to once again take on all 19 bosses from the base game in multiple settings.

“Progression in Boss Challenge requires battle data from bosses you have previously defeated,” said Hyung Tae. “You can also fight bosses on Hard difficulty after you have seen the end of the game.

“To start the challenge, you can load and use your own equipment that you have been using or choose one of several presets. Choose the minimum preset for a real challenge, which is extremely low-key, or the maximum preset, which improves all your skills and stats, if you want to taunt the boss with spectacular combat.

“Once the challenge is over, your battle data is automatically analyzed. You'll see metrics like battle time, number of perfect parries and dodges, consumable usage, and more. Test your skills and compare them with your friends.”

Once all bosses are defeated in Boss Challenge on Normal difficulty or higher, the player will unlock the Neurolink suit for Eve. The update also adds the White Kunoichi and Black Kunoichi suits, which can be obtained from Adam's safe house.

Shift Up said the patch fixes bugs such as sections not being playable, events not triggering, and trophies not being awarded. It also adds an auto-lock option when exiting ranged mode, plus an option to always display the compass on the HUD.
