Silent Hill 2 Remake finally has an official release date

The reimagining of Bloober Team will arrive on October 8 of this year on PlayStation 5 and PC

Konami has presented another new trailer for Bloober Team's Silent Hill 2 Remake during the State of Play broadcast on May 30 alongside the game's release date.

It will arrive on October 8 of this year on PlayStation 5 and PC.

Originally revealed in the fall of 2022, news about this long-awaited survival horror remake has been a long time coming. This latest trailer for the game highlighted more scenes and characters seen in the remake instead of focusing solely on the gameplay like the previous one did.

Although, during its reveal it was estimated that it would be exclusive to PlayStation 5, now Silent Hill 2 Remake will also come to PC. It is important to mention that this exclusivity is limited, since, after one year of its launch, Konami will be able to bring the game to Xbox or Xbox consoles. even the successor to the Nintendo Switch when we have it in our hands in 2025.

Silent Hill 2 Remake has received mixed reactions from fans

Shortly before Hideo Kojima left Konami due to creative differences, the Japanese company became an object of displeasure for a good part of the community, even for fans of its franchises.

The announcement of the remake was questioned when a trailer focused mainly on combat was revealed, generating a mixed reaction among those hoping for a new Silent Hill.

The following month, Bloober Team president Piotr Babieno said the trailer “does not reflect the spirit of the game,” and said the marketing aspect was Konami's responsibility.

Another part of the criticism was the appearance of James Sunderland, the game's protagonist, as he looked completely different to how the public would have imagined him in a remake. Now, in the new trailer, the protagonist looks even younger and similar to the original version of him.
