The latest DLC for Destiny 2: The Final Shape is leaked on PS5

Some players received early access to new content by mistake and Bungie suggests avoiding spoilers

During the morning of May 30, some PlayStation 5 users who pre-ordered the latest DLC of Destiny 2: The Final Shape in advance, which was scheduled to arrive on June 4 and everything indicates that Sony is behind what happened .

As mentioned in the media Forbes, many players gained access to the DLC with full access, from the campaign to collections, weapons, and seasonal content. Despite this, Sony and Bungie quickly took action and removed all access to the DLC. Therefore, you will no longer be able to access this content, although there are now many spoilers running around on social media.

Even the Destiny 2 development team made a publication on X explaining everything that happened, warning about spoilers.

“Earlier today, a portion of Destiny 2: The Final Shape was accidentally streamed live on the PS5 streaming service. Spoilers are currently being shared online”, reads the post.

In addition, they mention that it is extremely difficult for the development team, Bungie and even Sony for details like these to be leaked just before the PlayStation State of Play scheduled for May 30 just days before the launch of the expansion.

The latest DLC has had a difficult path

In August 2023 was when we met The Final Shape for the first time and it was scheduled to arrive in November of the same year. However, Bungie made the decision to delay it.

“The Final Shape is the culmination of the first ten years of Destiny storytelling and, for Guardians around the world, countless hours spent together,” Bungie said at the time. “We want to honor that journey, so we are taking the time we need to deliver an even bigger and bolder vision, one that we hope will be remembered and treasured for years to come.”

This delay allowed Bungie to add new content for the DLC for a few months before its arrival. Weekly progression-based quests known as Wishes arrived in February, as well as the launch of Moments of Triumph. In March, players received Guardian Games focused on class vs. class battles. Finally, in April, the two-month content update available to everyone called Destiny 2: Into the Light, which will prepare players for their Guardian's journey to the Traveler.
