Find out all the details about Call of Duty: Black Ops 6

We already have all the information about the next shooter from Treyarch and Raven Software that will arrive this October 25, 2024

Activision's broadcast for the official reveal of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 was without a doubt one of the most anticipated things by fans during the week of the Summer Game Fest. At the event, Treyarch and Raven Software offered a lot of information about the next chapter of their long-awaited shooter. It will arrive on October 25, 2024 on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4, PC and Game Pass.

With so much information to analyze, here at ProGamers.life we will summarize all the relevant information of this new story in one place:

What is the story of Black Ops 6 about?

Black Ops 6's campaign takes players to the early 1990s. The fictional story draws on the history of the era and immerses you in a strange, clandestine conspiracy in which a dark force has infiltrated the government. of the United States.

Anyone who resists is branded a traitor, forcing players to go rogue for the first time to fight the very machine that created them. Nothing is as it seems, and the truth can be difficult to understand, drawing you deeper and deeper into intrigue, distrust, and mind-blowing psychological revelations.

Unfortunately, those looking forward to the Black Ops 6 campaign should know that it will not be a prolonged experience as it is “a classic Call of Duty campaign,” according to Yale Miller, director of production at Treyarch in an interview with Stephen Totilo.

“Variety is a very important thing we hear from fans,” he said. “They don't even want a grade for your experiences. Luckily for us, Black Ops lends itself to that, where you can do your heist missions, your puzzle solving, your stealth and your big military raids too... Although they want a lot of freedom and variety, they also want to be taken to the mountains Russian…”

“I think a big goal for all of us is to give players the opportunity to be smart, where you don't just take them on this journey all the time, where they have the opportunity to explore and decide how they want to move forward. A situation."

Although the director did not state how long it could last exactly, it is expected that it will not be as short as that of the criticized Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.

The classic Black Ops Multiplayer returns with new mechanics

This new title will arrive with 16 completely new multiplayer maps on its first day, including 12 Core 6v6 maps and four small Strike maps that will allow you to play 2v2 or 6v6 games.

One of the big new innovations for the Call of Duty series is Omni-Move, which allows you to run, slide, and dive in any direction (literally as in helldivers 2), as well as intelligent movement (run, crouch, and crouch assists), allowing you to focus on pulling off incredible, complex maneuvers with ease), larger enemy hit zones, HUD optimizations, and the return of Classic Theater and Prestige Mode.

All of this was detailed during the broadcast, so you can see it below:

Round-based Zombies Mode is back, baby!

Black Ops 6 also marks the epic return of Round-Based Zombies, the fan-favorite mode where players will defeat hordes of undead in two all-new maps such as Terminus and Liberty Falls. After launch, players can expect new maps.

In case you're new to the Black Ops saga, Zombies is Treyarch's flagship game mode for a cooperative experience in which you take on huge crowds of zombified creatures, most of which are the recently deceased, now animated due to strange and supernatural forces. Each location will be packed with powerful weapons, new and returning power-ups, a pantheon of foul entities to face, and a host of secrets and secrets to discover.

Modern Warfare 2 and 3 content will not come to Black Ops 6

Something that many may not like is that in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 you will have to start from scratch. That means that gear, skins, weapons, and equipment from Modern Warfare 2 and 3 will not be carried over to the Treyarch game because it will not feature Carry Forward.

“We want to make sure everyone starts over, together, as we move towards a completely new experience with the launch of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6,” Activision said on its blog. “It's important to allow everyone to experience the Black Ops universe the way it was meant to be played, learn the era-specific weapons and equipment, learn gameplay innovations like Omnimovement, and maintain that signature Black Ops style.”

“Therefore, content from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare® II and Modern Warfare III will not carry over to the Black Ops 6 Premium experience.”

However, there will be an exception to the rule. The Black Ops 6 Vault Edition Woods Operator Pack that includes the Classic Woods Operator skin will be available in Modern Warfare 3 and Black Ops 6. Additionally, Warzone players will continue to receive Carry Forward content for Season 1 of the upcoming game, including the content of Modern Warfare 2, 3 and Black Ops 6.

Even the campaign will require a permanent internet connection to play

During the announcement, Activision also confirmed that its next title will also require a persistent internet connection to play. While this was something everyone expected for Multiplayer, Zombies, and Warzone, many were surprised to notice that even the campaign will require a constant internet connection.

The news was confirmed at the end of a article of support published on Sunday, which details the different editions of the game.

“To deliver the highest quality visuals while reducing the overall game storage space on your hard drive, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will utilize texture streaming in all game modes,” he said.

“This means that you will need a continuous Internet connection to play any game mode, including the Campaign. If you're on a console, you can play Campaign without a premium subscription service like Game Pass Core or PlayStation Plus.”

It's also coming to Xbox Game Pass on Day 1!

Earlier this month, Microsoft confirmed that Black Ops 6 would be the first game in the Call of Duty franchise to arrive on Xbox Game Pass Day 1 in all its tiers. For example, Game Pass Ultimate and Game Pass PC members will receive full access to Black Ops 6's campaign, as well as its online multiplayer and Zombies modes.

Game Pass Console subscribers will receive access to the game's campaign only, as Game Pass Core is required to access online console multiplayer.

Players subscribed to Game Pass Ultimate, Game Pass PC, or Game Pass Console before the game's release date can receive access to two pre-order bonuses: the Woods Operator Pack and early access to the open beta.

As for the closed beta that is accessed with the game reservation, it will take place from August 28 to September 3, which follows the Call of Duty NEXT event scheduled for the same August 28. That event will show off the game in its entirety, including multiplayer and zombies.
