Civilization VII has been leaked shortly before its official reveal

Everything indicates that 2K will reveal the seventh installment of its iconic turn-based strategy game during the Summer Game Fest

UPDATE: 2K has officially revealed Civilization VII during Summer Game Fest. It will arrive in 2025.

On the morning of June 7, hours before the Summer Game Fest broadcast begins, a small look at Civilization VII, the seventh installment of 2K's iconic turn-based strategy game, was released.

According to users by Resetera y Reddit, a promotional image (no longer available) appeared on publisher 2K's website hours before the event.

In case you're not familiar with this franchise, Civilization has sold more than 65 million copies since its release in 1991, according to 2K. Civilization VI was released in 2016 and is the best-selling series to date.

2K announced a few months ago that it would soon reveal the next title of one of its “biggest and most beloved franchises,” leading to speculation as to which of its many popular franchises it might be.

Among the games expected is a new Mafia title, confirmed by Hangar 13 during the 20th anniversary of the saga; a new installment of Borderlands after 2K's recent acquisition of Gearbox and a new BioShock.

But in addition, Firaxis officially announced in February 2023 that the next main game in its Sid Meier's Civilization series was in development following a major restructuring at the studio where XCOM director Jake Solomon and studio head Steve Martin They left the company.
