Venezuela and Serbia reaffirm diplomatic alliance

Foreign Minister Yván Gil held a telephone conversation with his Serbian counterpart, Marko Đurić

In order to reaffirm the diplomatic alliance with the Republic of Serbia, Venezuelan Foreign Minister Yván Gil held a telephone conversation with Marko Đurić, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Balkan country.

In his account on the social network X, Gil specified that in the conversation both countries reaffirmed their shared commitment to the defense of human rights and respect for international law.

It is worth remembering that last February, the Vice Minister for Europe, Coromoto Godoy Calderón, received the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia, Katarina Andrić, at the “Antonio José de Sucre” Yellow House.

On that occasion, the Serbian diplomat assured that cooperation between both nations will be very fruitful in different areas, especially in education, sports, culture and agriculture, while expressing that Serbia will have a greater presence in Venezuela.

On April 3, President Nicolás Maduro held a telephone contact with the president of Serbia, Aleksandar Vuĉić, to whom he reiterated “Venezuela's full support in the fight for the territorial sovereignty of his country and the defense of Peace.” .

Venezuela and Serbia established diplomatic relations on April 13, 1882.
