Venezuela reaffirms unrestricted support for Palestine

Ambassador Jorge Valero, Head of the Venezuelan Mission to the European Union, participated in the Resistance Festival in Brussels, in support of the cause of the Palestinian people

Venezuela was present at the "Resistance Festival" in Brussels, in support of the cause of the Palestinian people, on Sunday, May 26.

According to information from the Chancellery, Ambassador Jorge Valero, Head of the Mission of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to the European Union, participated in the activity that also served to remember the 76th anniversary of the Nakba.

Ambassador Valero ratified Venezuela's unwavering support for the heroic struggle of the Palestinian people to recover their historical rights and free their land from the genocide of the Israeli government, and condemned the murder of more than 36.000 Palestinians at the hands of the Israeli government since last 7 October 2023.

He welcomed the decision of the Prosecutor's Office of the International Criminal Court to order the arrest of the president of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, for being a genocide and war criminal.

In this regard, he pointed out that Netanyahu should not be put on the same level as the heroic freedom fighters of the Palestinian people.

He reiterated Venezuela's firm support for South Africa, in its actions taken before the International Court of Justice to condemn the genocide of the Israeli regime against the Palestinian people.

He also welcomed the recent decision of Spain, Norway and Ireland to recognize the State of Palestine, and expressed his hope that more countries would act in that regard.

The "Resistance Festival" took place on May 25 and 26 in the Belgian capital, in the Plaza de Belén in the municipality of Saint Gilles and in the facilities of the Society Training Collective Center (CFS).

It was organized by several pro-Palestinian associations, including the Samidoun Solidarity Network, and during the two days, concerts, documentary screenings, exhibitions and several conferences were held.
