Venezuela continues to promote Peace Diplomacy

The country plans to increase the participation of Latin America and the Caribbean in the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons

With approaches such as increasing the participation of Latin America and the Caribbean in the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW), Venezuela continues to promote Bolivarian Peace Diplomacy in the world.

In this sense, the plenipotentiary ambassador of the country before that body, Hector Constant Rosales, met with the president of the Executive Council, ambassador Andrés Terán, with whom he agreed on the importance of this approach.

“Pleasant meeting with Ambassador Andrés Terán, president of the Executive Council of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW), with whom we agree on the importance of increasing the Latin American-Caribbean presence within the Organization,” Constant indicated through the social network

The OPCW is the implementing body of the Chemical Weapons Convention, which entered into force on April 29, 1997. The OPCW, with its 193 Member States, oversees the global effort to permanently and verifiably eliminate chemical weapons, AVN review.

In this regard, it should be noted that Venezuela ratified its accession to the OPCW on December 3, 1997.
