Prime Minister of Sao Tome and Principe arrived in Venezuela

The delegation of the African nation was received by Foreign Minister Yván Gil and Vice Minister Yuri Pimentel

Foreign Minister Yván Gil received Prime Minister Patrice Trovoada, of Sao Tome and Principe, as well as the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Communities Gareth Guadalupe, who arrived on ramp 4 of the Simón Bolívar International Airport to the country.

Through the VTV broadcast of the arrival of the senior official, it was stated that the Bolivarian government is making progress in consolidating diplomatic relations and the so-called “south-south cooperation” with the African country.

The vice minister for Africa Yuri Pimentel was also present at the reception.

Likewise, the website of the Ministry of Interior Relations highlights that in 2009, the General Cooperation Agreement and the Memorandum of Understanding on the Establishment of the Political Consultation Mechanism were signed with the African nation in Caracas.

In 2011, with the aim of deepening the ties of cooperation between the parliaments of both countries, a delegation from the National Liberation Movement Party of Sao Tome and Principe (MLSTP) was in Caracas.

Likewise, it should be noted that there is an educational program to train Comprehensive Community Doctors within the framework of the International Student Program of the Mariscal de Ayacucho Foundation.

Diplomatic relations between Venezuela and Sao Tome and Principe were formalized with the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between both countries in August 2006, after the first official visit of a delegation from the South American nation to the African country.
