Padrino López: we will know how to defend our democracy

The Minister of Defense criticized statements by Carlos Vecchio about the actions that Venezuela is carrying out to recover the territory of Guayana Esequiba

The Minister of Defense, Vladimir Padrino López, called on the people and the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) to be alert to any attempt by the right to take away peace and political stability from the country.

“Anything can happen in the coming days for them to try to boycott the political intention of reaffirming our democracy through presidential elections. From the FANB we raise our voice and say (to imperialism) “go home” that we will know how to defend our democracy and the popular will,” said the senior military officer from an FANB signature gathering activity to demand that the United States lift the economic blockade of Venezuela.

In this sense, he criticized the recent statements of one of the members of the imaginary government of Narnia, Carlos Vecchio, about the actions that Venezuela is carrying out to recover our historic territory of Guayana Esequiba.

“Why don't you criticize the presence of military bases of the Southern Command in Guyana and criticize the FANB that is doing social work in Essequibo. "No one can take away from us, as a sovereign country, the right to carry out military operations throughout the territory as indicated by the constitution," he said, while describing those groups that roam the world as "scoundrels and traitors to the country." calling for sanctions against our country.

He pointed out that the people keep in their memory those who have requested sanctions against Venezuela.

democratic project

Likewise, he highlighted that in our country there is a perfect democracy that has been built based on the mandate of the majority of Venezuelans.

“We have a democratic project that is based on the philosophy of democracy of the people and for the people. A democracy that we all gave ourselves and is embodied in the constitution. How is it that an empire is going to come now to tell us that this is not our democracy. “We know the path we are taking to obtain the most precious asset, which is national independence,” he said.

At the same time, he recalled the great damage that the unilateral coercive measures imposed by North American imperialism at the request of the Venezuelan right have done to our country.

“It is a declared war of an empire against a free, hard-working, prosperous patriotic nation, which has its codes intact,” said Padrino López, commenting that these attacks have impacted Venezuelan production and food, medicines, and education in the countryside.

“We are clear, the United States declared war on us,” he said, assuring that the Venezuelan people will emerge victorious.

“Mr Biden lift the sanctions now against the people of Venezuela,” he added.
