Maduro: Sheinbaum's triumph in Mexico is a triumph against the right

The president reiterated his congratulations to the elected president of Mexico and reaffirmed his commitment to continue working for our people.

The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, reiterated his words of congratulations to the newly elected president of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum, who comfortably won this Sunday in the general elections of the Aztec nation.

The national president highlighted that the triumph of the Mexican scientist occurred despite the strong and multimillion-dollar campaign by sectors of the right of that country. “Social networks bought by the right, bots magnifying the opposition marches, the media lying,” the president listed in his program ´Con Maduro +´.

He commented that although the difference in votes was very large, “the right and their media said there was fraud” until very late at night, when the results were already irreversible.

In this sense, President Maduro said that “the victory was so great that they had to remain silent. It was an overwhelming victory. “Mexico’s left crushed Mexico’s right,” he said.

He added that “Mexico's triumph signals the advance of the progressive forces of Latin America. Mexico's victory is a great victory against the right."

He concluded his comment by inviting the new Mexican government to continue strengthening the ties that were woven with President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, “to continue promoting the (Community of Latin American and Caribbean States) CELAC in the region.”
