Organic Law consolidates defense of Guayana Esequiba

Hermann Escarrá highlighted the role of President Maduro in the protection of Essequibo and stated that progress has been made like never before in the defense of our rights.

The Deputy to the National Assembly, Hermann Escarrá, explained the legal nature of the Constitutional Organic Law for the Defense of Guayana Esequiba, which consolidates the protection of the territory since it has greater hierarchy over the rest of the organic laws, he also stated that its Content reflects the result of the 2023 Consultative Referendum.

“Article 203 of the constitution was formally followed, which regulates the organic laws in Venezuela and then from the constituent law, a constitutional law is produced to regulate the entire new legal structure of the country,” he expressed during a television interview. this Monday.

Likewise, the parliamentarian pointed out that the International Court of Justice (ICJ) should not act in the dispute process between Venezuela and Guyana, over the Essequibo territory, without both countries reaching an agreement to request intervention.

“It is a voluntary jurisdiction on the one hand, but on the other hand there has to be a clause of agreement between the parties in conflict and Venezuela has repeatedly said that it does not accept the jurisdiction of the international court of justice,” he explained.

Guyana's military provocations violated Argyle Act

Escarrá also expressed the National Assembly's rejection of Guyana's military provocations and indicated in this regard that they violated article 6 of the Argyle Act.

“They violated article 6 of the Algeria agreement. That made the President, with his peace diplomacy, act accordingly. We must not forget that we have an extraordinary National Armed Force, willing, prepared,” he assured.

Likewise, the deputy highlighted the role of President Nicolás Maduro in this situation: "We have made progress like never before in the defense of our rights, we have an excellent head of state who acts with firmness and courage."

Regarding the Geneva Agreement, he emphasized that Venezuela is preparing for peace because it is its vocation and what it wants is to reach said agreement with direct dialogue and understanding.
