Attorneys General of Venezuela and Russia meet in Moscow

The officials reviewed the joint work in matters of citizen rights and defense of legality.

At the headquarters of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation in Moscow, the meeting between the Prosecutor General of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Tarek William Saab, and his Russian counterpart, Igor Krasnov, took place this Saturday.

The objective of the visit was to reaffirm the work that both institutions have been carrying out in the defense of legality, the rights of citizens and the State.

The dialogue between the highest representatives of the Justice administration was focused on issues such as the fight against terrorism, transactional crime, drug trafficking and the defense of human rights and bilateral cooperation in the sphere that corresponds to both institutions.

It should be noted that this is the second meeting so far this year between Attorney Generals Tarek William Saab and Krasnov, since the first took place in Carcas on April 18 of this year, at which time a Cooperation Agreement was signed. between the two holders of the criminal action.

Attorney General Saab stated “that these meetings mark the beginning of a historic bilateral exchange that will be an example of international cooperation between both institutions.”

Prosecutors Saab and Krasnov advanced the proposal to establish a work program that allows developing the postulates of said significant agreement.

Both Prosecutors reiterated their willingness to join forces and consolidate the bilateral relationship between both institutions.
