Leftist leader Raúl Esté died at 92

He was a deputy for the Communist Party of Venezuela, in the period 1984-1989, and for the Fifth Republic Movement from 2000 to 2006.

This Saturday, the former parliamentarian and leader of the left, Raúl Esté, died at the age of 92.

He held seats in the national congress during the period 1984-1989 for the Communist Party of Venezuela (PCV), in addition to being a consistent defender of Human Rights.

In 1986, as a deputy, he denounced those guilty of the murder of nine young revolutionaries in Yumare (Yaracuy) and, together with the lawyer Adán Navas Nieves and the writer Álvaro Carrera, he wrote the book The Massacre of Yumare, published on October 8, this year.

From 2000 to 2006 he was a deputy of the Fifth Republic Movement (MVR) to the National Assembly for the state of Miranda.

The death of this human rights defender was mourned by Elias Jaua, who recognizes his efforts on behalf of those most in need.
