University students, who commemorated the University Student Day this Saturday, in a ceremony led by the Vice President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, reported that they will develop the campaign "My first vote for the country."
The objective is to defend the country on December 6 through the aforementioned campaign in which all students over 18 years of age will be in charge of mobilizing their parents and teachers to go to vote and recover the National Assembly.
On the other hand, the Venezuelan Federation of University Education Students (FVEU) urged the authorities of the Central University of Venezuela (UCV) to start classes at a distance, in order that the student sector can enhance their academic training in middle of covid-19.
The president of FVEU and candidate for the National Assembly (AN), Kennedy Morales, said “we accompany the fight of the federation of university centers of the UCV and we demand that the university council of this house of higher studies accept the request of the student movement to start distance classes to guarantee the right to education ”.
He specified that the prestige of the UCV is endangered because it is the academic reference of the Venezuelan people and the authorities intend to use them "as if it were their backyard, when they should be at the service of Venezuelans."
For her part, the Executive Vice President demanded that the autonomous university authorities, which have joined the blockade of the right to study, include the program La Universidad en Casa. “There can be no blocking of the right to education. These colleagues who are in these houses of studies suffer from the intolerance of the directives of these autonomous universities ”.
Approval of student proposals
Rodríguez reported that President Nicolás Maduro approved all the proposals submitted by the Venezuelan Federation of University Students (FVEU).
Earlier, Morales proposed increasing the number of scholarships awarded to university students to face the blockade and imperial sanctions, also that all graduates of the university sector be linked to the Chamba Juvenil Mission to guarantee jobs in the primary sector; turn all professionals into university professors to build the qualitative transformation of the XNUMXst century.
