Ombudsman's Office signs agreement with its Turkish counterpart

Through a joint agenda, they will promote the exchange of information on mechanisms for citizen service and the promotion of human rights.

El Ombudsman, Alfredo Ruiz, and the president of the Turkish Institution of Human Rights and Equality, Muharrem Kilic, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in order to expand and strengthen relations of friendship and cooperation between both institutions, he says. The Memorandum, which will be valid for three years from this signing, allows both institutions to promote the implementation of a joint agenda for the exchange of information on mechanisms for citizen service, as well as the promotion and dissemination of human rights.

This signature also allows for a rapprochement between both institutions, which according to their constitutional principles, work to build a fair, inclusive and respectful society of human rights, under the values ​​of solidarity, respect, tolerance, cooperation, coexistence. peaceful, co-responsibility and dialogue for mutual understanding between the peoples of Türkiye and Venezuela.

Likewise, through the exchange of knowledge and experiences of good practices between both institutions in the field of rights, they hope to contribute to the enrichment of these values ​​and consequently to maintain, deepen and solidify ties for mutually beneficial cooperation.

Training projects

The agreement also contemplates the execution of training projects in the following areas: rights of children and adolescents, women's rights, alternative conflict resolution mechanisms, reconciliation processes, justice and reparation, right to equality and non-discrimination and right of access to quality public services.

Likewise, the exchange of experiences and good practices in the aforementioned areas will be promoted by holding forums, courses, workshops and thematic meetings, through the technological communication resources that both institutions have at their disposal to maintain this flow of exchange. of knowledge and experiences, good practices or consultations that arise within the framework of the institutional relationships that are established.

In addition, consultation mechanisms will be activated periodically in order to evaluate and analyze the context regarding human rights, as well as to promote alliances and mutual support within the framework of international organizations where life is carried out in common.
