Foreign Minister Gil met with his counterpart in charge in Tehran

Both officials reaffirmed the relationship of friendship and joint work for a more just and multipolar world

The Minister for Foreign Affairs, Yván Gil, met with his counterpart in charge of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ali Bagheri Kani, to reaffirm the friendship between both countries and work for a more just and multipolar world, reported the Chancellor of the Republic in a post on the X network.

“We have held a meeting with the acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ali Bagheri Kani, in order to reaffirm the friendship between our nations and the joint commitment to work for a more just and multipolar world,” he noted.

He added that, despite the tragedy that affects them, in reference to the death of President Ebrahim Raisi, Foreign Minister Amir; Together with other officials, “we want the people and government of Iran to know that they have our unconditional support in these difficult times.”

Earlier, the Venezuelan foreign minister honored Raisi during his visit to the Asian country for the funeral ceremonies, AVN reported.

Last Sunday, May 19, President Raisi died in a plane crash in the province of East Azerbaijan, northwest of Iran, international media reported.

Solid alliance between Venezuela and Iran

For his part, the Iranian foreign minister in charge, Bagheri Kani, stressed that in the context of the tribute to the martyred president and foreign minister, “the solid strategic alliance between Venezuela and Iran stood out.”

“The friendship and mutual support between both countries in adverse times was emphasized. Likewise, the firm commitment of the IR of Iran to carrying out bilateral projects was emphasized, which were considered priorities by the martyred president,” Kani concluded.
