They approve the appointment of new ambassadors to strengthen diplomacy with Africa

Carlos Feo Acevedo is the new ambassador to South Africa and Magaly Josefina Henríquez ambassador to Namibia

During its most recent ordinary session, the National Assembly (AN) approved the appointment of Carlos Feo Acevedo as ambassador to South Africa and Magaly Josefina Henríquez as ambassador to Namibia, both with concurrent representation in several African countries and before regional organizations, in an effort for promoting bilateral relations and the country's diplomatic presence on the continent.

Acevedo, whose experience and career in the foreign service have been recognized by his colleagues, will represent Venezuela not only in South Africa, but also in the Comoros, Madagascar, Mauritius, Seychelles and Lesotho, as part of a strategic appointment that seeks to expand influence Venezuela and establish solid alliances in key points of the African region, outlined the state channel.

For her part, Magaly Josefina Henríquez, with an outstanding career as a chemist and researcher, will assume a crucial role in Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe and as special representative to SADC. Its knowledge in areas of mining and science will be essential to promote cooperation and economic development projects, as well as to strengthen cultural and scientific ties between our country and these nations.

These appointments reinforce the national government's commitment to an active and dynamic foreign policy, aimed at always seeking mutual benefit and international understanding. The National Assembly, by approving these positions, underlines the importance of diplomacy as a tool for building a more prosperous and peaceful future for all.
