Communicators from Nueva Esparta recognized in special session

The Ennodio Ramos Journalism Award was presented and recognitions were given to outstanding communicators in the region

The Legislative Council of the Bolivarian State of Nueva Esparta (Clebne), chaired by legislator Milagros Arzolay, together with the chambers of the municipalities of Antolín del Campo, Arismendi, Díaz and Marcano, paid tribute to the social communicators of the island entity, on the occasion to celebrate National Journalist's Day.

In this session, which took place at the Omar Carreño Arts Center, located in La Asunción, Arismendi municipality, the keynote speaker was the doctor in Communication Strategy, Berenice Benítez, who highlighted the role of the journalist in society.

“That legion of social communicators who work tirelessly to inform the people of the events that occur in the state, the country, the world, in the case of Nueva Esparta, what happens in the communities, in the towns and in the different institutions,” said Benítez.

Recognized communicators

Clebne and the different chambers awarded recognition to outstanding communicators from the island region.

The legislators awarded the order of Saint Francis of Assisi to the prominent journalists Sol Pérez, Ernesto González and Tania González. While the Council of Antolín del Campo presented the Pedro Bellorín Caraballo Order to Mr. Johnny Guerrero, who was also distinguished with the Order Captain Antonio Díaz, awarded by the Council of the Díaz municipality.

Likewise, the Marcano Council delivered the Tcnel Order. Gaspar Marcano to Jean Carlos Larez and the Arismendi Council presented the Honor Button of Merit to the communicator Julio Flores.

Other communicators of the entity were also recognized, such as Olivia Torres, Mario Moreno, Ricardo Marcano, Diego Maparacuto, Carolina Franco Rojas, among others.

“It is an honor to receive this distinction and to carry out the work of social communicator, a job that is done with the people and for the people, expressing the feelings of the people on the street, looking for solutions, looking for alternatives,” commented journalist Sol Pérez.

For his part, journalist Ernesto González added that he was extremely pleased and proud as a journalist from Margarita to be recognized for “a work of 14 years of profession, most of them in public administration, especially because institutional journalism is highlighted and valued, which sometimes It is invisible but it has fundamental characteristics in organizations,” said González.

Likewise, the “Ennodio Ramos” Regional Journalism Award was awarded, obtained by VTV correspondent in Nueva Esparta, Tania González, in the television category for presenting a special work referring to the celebration of the centenary of Living Cultural Heritage, Chelías Villarroel.
