The President of the People's Republic of China, Xi Jinping, announced that his country supports the holding of an international peace conference for the Middle East.

This was stated during his speech at the installation in Beijing of the 10th Ministerial Conference of the Cooperation Forum between the Asian giant and the Arab States, in which he pointed out that “the war (in the Gaza Strip) should not continue indefinitely. Justice does not have to be absent forever.”

China, he assured, “supports the full integration of Palestine into the UN and supports a broad-based, authoritative and effective international peace conference.”

He stated that “the Middle East is a land endowed with ample possibilities for development, but war is devastating it,” and expressed his pain for the “tremendous suffering” that the war that Israel maintains with Palestine has caused to the civilian population of Gaza. regretting the “drastic deterioration” that the situation has experienced in recent months.

Likewise, he stressed that he supports “the establishment of a completely sovereign Palestinian State,” as well as its participation as a member with full rights in the United Nations.

In his speech, Xi Jinping announced the donation of 500 million yuan ($70,3 million) in humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip.

“The top priority now is an immediate ceasefire, to prevent the conflict from spreading and impacting regional peace and stability, and (…) avoid a more serious humanitarian crisis,” he said.

The President of Egypt, Abdel Fattah al Sisi, and representatives of numerous countries participate in the Forum.
