The Minister of Foreign Affairs of RussiaSergei Lavrov warned this Friday that threats to the security of Eurasia come from various sources, but the main one in most cases is the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).

“The threats to Eurasian security come from various sources, the main one being in the overwhelming majority of cases an aggressive NATO policy that seeks to appropriate all issues related to guarantees of stability in this vast space,” said the chancellor. , quoted by Sputnik.

Lavrov made this statement after a meeting with his counterparts from the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) held in the Kazakh city of Almaty. This organization is made up of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan.

In addition, he commented that among the members of the CSTO there is consensus on the need to have a security architecture in Eurasia.

However, Lavrov warned that NATO will obstruct, by all means, "these equitable processes, but they have absolutely no alternative."

The Russian Foreign Minister also stated that West aims to dismantle existing structures.

"The West wants to dismantle this structure of a network of associations grouped around ASEAN on the basis of the principles of equality, equitable and indivisible security, consensus and mutual respect," he said.
