UN Rapporteur denounced that Israel intends to silence crimes in Gaza

Francesca Albanese warned that the genocide committed by Israel in Gaza is much more horrible than what has been told so far

The special rapporteur of the United Nations (UN) on the Palestinian territories, Francesca Albanese, denounced that Israel intends to hide from international media the crimes it commits in Gaza.

Through her account on the social network X, the official questioned “what does Israel not want international journalists to see?”

“The genocide that has been committed in Gaza is much more horrible than what has been told until now,” he responded, he reported. Telesur.

In this sense, Albanese's statement is in response to a statement from the Foreign Press Association that warned that Israel continues to prevent independent access of international media to Gaza.

"Never before Israel had imposed such a long and strict information blackout. “It has repeatedly rejected our requests for access, fought us in court to maintain this draconian ban, and only offered a handful of highly controlled ‘insertion’ opportunities to a small number of our members,” they stated in the text.

In addition, the association recognized the work of Palestinian journalists in Gaza, stating that “they continue to suffer unprecedented threats and restrictions on movement as they bravely try to cover this news.”

According to health authorities of Palestine, from October 7, 2023 to date, more than 38 people have been reported killed and more than 100 injured, most of them women and children, due to Israel's constant attacks.
