Israel kills 11 Palestinians and raises the total number to over 37.400 dead

The new victims were walking in a group through a “tactical pause” area when they were attacked with artillery fire.

At least 11 Gazans were killed and another 30 wounded this Wednesday in an Israeli bombardment when they were gathered on Salah al Din Street in Rafah, in the southern tip of Gaza, according to the Palestinian news agency Wafa.

The bodies of the dead and wounded were taken to the European Hospital in Khan Younis, also in the south of the Strip, Wafa reported.

The Salah al Din road is the core of the “tactical pause” in southern Gaza that the Army announced on Sunday, in which (from the Kerem Shalom crossing to the Khan Younis European Hospital), the armed forces would allow the humanitarian aid access, pausing its activities daily from 8:00 a.m. to 19:00 p.m.

The Office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu clarified shortly after that the fighting in Rafah would continue “as planned,” after the military announcement of the pause, which the politician described as “unacceptable.”

This afternoon, two more Palestinians were killed in an Israeli artillery attack at the Al Alam crossing, west of the devastated southern city.

According to Palestinian sources, the bombings have destroyed more than 70% of Rafah's facilities and infrastructure.

Since the war began, nearly 37.400 Palestinians have been killed and more than 85.500 injured in the Gaza Strip by Israeli attacks, mostly women and children, according to the Hamas-controlled Palestinian enclave's Health Ministry.

In its daily bulletin, the ministry recalls that some 10.000 bodies remain under the rubble, without ambulances or rescue teams being able to access them.
