Helicopter carrying the president of Iran had to make an emergency landing

The site where the aircraft fell is difficult to access and makes rescue efforts difficult due to the dense fog.

Iranian media report that the helicopter in which the President of Iran, Ebrahim Raisi, was traveling, has suffered an accident.

At the same time, it is reported that some of the president's companions on the helicopter managed to contact Central Headquarters, raising hopes that the incident had not caused any casualties.

The first images have emerged of the massive search and rescue operation to locate the helicopter of the president of Iran, Ebrahim Raisi, which suffered an accident this Sunday near the border with Azerbaijan.

According to Iranian media, it is possible that the aircraft had to make a forced landing due to dense fog.

Rescue teams are working in bad weather conditions. Currently, the phones of the people who were on board the presidential helicopter, including Raisi himself, are not available.

It is reported that the exact location of the crashed helicopter has already been determined. The place is located around the village of Uzi, located in the Arasbaran forests. The difficult access to the accident area hinders the work of the rescue services.

The device in which the president was traveling, along with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hossein Amirabdollahian, and the governor of the province of East Azerbaijan, Ayatollah Seyyed Mohammad-Ali Al-Hashem, was part of a presidential convoy of three helicopters. The other two, which were transporting ministers and other officials, reached their destination without incident.

“We have prepared treatment facilities. "We are now in the area and all rescue forces are busy searching," Iranian Health Minister Bahram Eynollahi said on state television. “We have deployed all medical facilities, including emergency, surgery and ambulances.”
