The US intensifies its anti-immigration policy and announces sanctions on tour operators

They modified the visa restriction policy that was in force in February

The United States (USA) will restrict visas to people who encourage and profit from irregular migration to that country, the U.S. Department of State North American.

In a statement published on its website, the federal agency He detailed that the decision will also apply to executives of travel agencies and tour operators that provide travel services designed primarily for irregular migrants.

“We will continue to enforce visa restrictions against unscrupulous transportation executives as part of our broader campaign to eliminate exploitative practices inside and outside the Western Hemisphere,” the note states.

Furthermore, he adds that “no one should benefit from the situation of vulnerable migrants, and this applies to smugglers, private companies, public officials or any other actor.”

With this provision, the US government modifies the visa restriction policy that was in force last February, in order to more decisively restrict the entry of illegal migrants through its airports and ports.

“Previously, the policy was aimed at senior officials of companies that provide charter transportation services by air, sea or land and will now also apply to senior officials of travel agencies and tour operators,” the State Department provision insists.
