US congressman condemns Ukrainian attack on Sevastopol

Republican Marjorie Taylor Greene questioned the use of cluster munitions used by kyiv against the civilian population.

The US military should not help Ukraine attack Russian civilians, says Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene in response to the deadly Ukrainian ATACMS attack on a Sevastopol beach.

“This should not be happening. Imagine that Russia, using a Russian satellite, fired cluster munitions on a Florida beach,” the congresswoman wrote in X this Monday.

“The only border our American military should defend is our own border, and the Constitution obliges the federal government to defend the states,” he added.

In the attack carried out last Sunday against Sevastopol, fragments of the cluster warhead of an ATACMS missile hit a beach, where there were numerous vacationers at the time. At least four deaths were recorded, including two children, and 153 injured.

The Russian Foreign Ministry summoned the US ambassador to Moscow, Lynne Tracy, on Monday. During the talks it was emphasized that Washington, considered by Moscow as a party to the conflict, "bears the same responsibility as the Kiev regime in this atrocity."

Meanwhile, Russia's permanent representative to the United Nations, Vasili Nebenzia, said that the Ukrainian bombing of Sevastopol "will not go unanswered."

Ukraine defends its attack on a tourist area

Mikhail Podoliak, advisor to the líder of the Ukrainian regime, Vladimir Zelensky, has spoken out about the bombing against the civilian population on the beaches of the Russian city of Sevastopol, which caused numerous victims, declaring that kyiv considers the entire Crimean peninsula a military objective.

“In Crimea there are not and cannot be 'beaches', 'tourist areas' and other fictitious signs of 'peaceful life,'” he wrote on his Telegram account, stating that the peninsula belongs to Ukraine, even though its population decided to join to Russia in a referendum held in 2014.

He described the Russian republic as a territory “where there are hostilities and a large-scale war is underway.” “Crimea is also a large military camp and warehouse with hundreds of direct military targets,” he said, calling the peninsula’s residents “civilian occupiers.”
