Attacks leave three dead and 13 injured in Colombia

The Colombian president asserted that those who chose the path of war "will continue to bear the full weight of the law."

At least three people died and another 13 were injured in several attacks that occurred on Friday in towns in the north and southwest of Colombia.

In the Taminango municipality, in the department of Nariño, the explosion of a car bomb was reported near a police station. A police officer and a woman died in this event.

In addition, six people were injured and there were damages to the doors and windows of the structures near the police station.

Another event occurred in the department of Cesar, in the Curumaní municipality, when two police officers were carrying out an investigation against organized crime in a rural area and were attacked. A patrolman died and a deputy mayor was injured.

One more attack was reported in the department of Bolívar, where six police officers were injured during an attack with explosives, reported Telesur.

For his part, the president of Colombia, Gustavo Petro, condemned the events and sent his solidarity to the families of the victims.

“We deeply regret the loss of patrolman Brayan Mojica Santos and the uniformed officers injured in the terrorist attacks in Taminango, Nariño and Curumaní, César. We extend our solidarity to their families,” he published on the X social network.

“Those who chose the path of war over peace will continue to bear the full weight of the law,” added the leader.
