In Monagas they deliver more than 10 thousand vaccines against foot and mouth disease

They guarantee immunization throughout the Monagas state

For the state of Monagas, there are more than 10 thousand doses of vaccine against foot and mouth disease to serve herds of farmers and small producers in the entity, as reported by the governor, Ernesto Luna.  

“For the prevention, control and eradication of foot-and-mouth disease in conjunction with producers, animal health institutions and commercial companies; Laboratorios Cala donated these doses to reinforce these actions,” Luna said.

He indicated that the immunization campaign has been developed satisfactorily thanks to the participation of livestock producers, highlighting that they will issue the general balance in the coming days.

The regional leader called on producers who have not yet immunized their herds to join this campaign.

Likewise, the invitation was extended to the mayors of the different municipalities of the entity to work together to meet the goal established in the first vaccination cycle 2024.

Likewise, the Secretary of Economy and Production of the Monagas governorate, Gustavo Sucre, said that the doses received are applied to the herds of small producers and farmers to guarantee immunization throughout the Monagas territory.

Following the instructions established by the National Institute of Comprehensive Agricultural Health (Insai), the entity in charge of executing technical guidance and registration of immunized herds at the national level, the Government executes support and logistical actions for the entire team in charge of developing the campaign of the first immunization cycle, which began on May 15 and will last until the XNUMXth of this month.

The health controls for the prevention and eradication of foot-and-mouth disease in cattle and buffalo meet the established regulations to achieve the International Certification of a Foot-and-Mouth Free Zone with Vaccination in the medium term, an essential requirement for the marketing of livestock and meat products, revitalization of the local and regional economy.
