The Cedeño mayor's office assisted a total of 35 families affected by the rains, after the passage of Hurricane Beryl.

The municipal manager, Daniel Monteverde, reported that they delivered drinking water, food, medicine, clothing, sheets and footwear for those affected in the communities of El Guayabo, Quinta Corozal, La Victoria and Las Chaguaramas.

“Since President Nicolás Maduro activated the emergency plan due to the rains, we, together with the Government, have worked together to bring this aid to the most vulnerable, who are our brothers from the upper area of ​​the Areo parish,” he said. .

There were no fatalities

The mayor highlighted that there were no deaths or missing persons in the affected communities and that the security and disaster prevention bodies carry out the corresponding monitoring of the local channels.

Likewise, Chief Inspector Esteban Jiménez, director of Citizen Security of the municipality, added that the Maraquero and El Limón passes of Caicara and Guarapiche, in the San Félix parish, are at high levels, but no flooding has been reported.

He also detailed that the overflow of the Amana River was the cause of the total loss of two homes in the community of Las Chaguaramas and the breakdown of the agricultural road in the area.
