Rehabilitation of the La Mariposa plant will produce 4.400 liters per second

Minister Marco Torres explained that the process of sedimentation and filtration of water will go from a mechanical system to a hydraulic one.

The Bolivarian Government, through the Ministry of Popular Power for Water Attention, supervised the work of rehabilitation of the La Mariposa water treatment plant, which serves one million 500 inhabitants of Los Altos Mirandinos and part of the city of Caracas.

The Minister of Popular Power for Water Attention, G/D Rodolfo Marco Torres, explained during a tour of the facilities that with the rehabilitation work carried out in the first phase it will reach 2.000 liters per second of water (LPS). , which will allow the water of the Tuy I Production System to be made drinkable.

"The entire process of coagulation, flocculation, sedimentation and filtration that is being carried out will go from a mechanical system to a hydraulic system and with the comprehensive rehabilitation of the entire plant we will achieve four thousand 400 LPS."

The plant has a control chamber, mixing tank, coagulators, settlers, recarbonators, filters and laboratories that allow the reservoir water to be treated and optimized for human consumption.

The president of Hidrocapital, engineer Carlos Mast, explained that with this first phase a great impact was achieved on the benefited population, improving the quality of the water, in response to the 1×10 of Good Government, as instructed by the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, MinAguas reported in a press release.
