Researchers' registry amounts to 26 thousand registered

For every 100 thousand inhabitants there are 78 people who are professionally dedicated to research

The National Registry of Researchers (ReNII) of the National Observatory of Science, Technology and Innovation (ONCTI), already has 26 thousand registered on the platform.

According to information from ONCTI, an entity attached to the Ministry of Science and Technology, of the 26 thousand registered people, 12.990 are women and 13.010 are men with an average age of 49 years.

Likewise, it states that the states of Anzoátegui, Aragua and Carabobo report the highest records of researchers with 28%, 37% and 31%, respectively. For every 100 thousand inhabitants there are 78 people who are professionally dedicated to research.

The information also reveals that the Venezuelan Institute of Scientific Research (IVIC) concentrates the largest number of researchers with 4,7%; In second place is the National Experimental University of the National Armed Forces (UNEFA) with 3,2%; and in third place the Universidad de los Andes (ULA) with 2,8%.

The ReNII registers the human talent that is dedicated to science and technology in the country, with competencies in areas of knowledge and institutions.

The tool seeks to identify the competencies of personnel, which has made it possible to build scientific and technological solutions to complex problems, and find answers to the real and felt, current and future needs of the population.
