Tropical waves cause heavy rains in Caracas

This Monday the seventh of the season arrived in Venezuela

The last three tropical waves that reached the country have caused heavy downpours, some with electrical shocks, in the Capital District and several states.

This Monday, three troughs continued over the national territory. Number five was leaving from the west, while the aftermath of the sixth caused disturbances in the central area, and the seventh entered in the afternoon and evening through eastern Venezuela, with an average speed of 25 kilometers per hour. , reported the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (Inameh) in X.

In this regard, social media users reported intense rainfall since early yesterday in the metropolitan area of ​​Caracas. Likewise, they reported heavy showers in areas of Miranda, Aragua, Guárico, Delta Amacuro, Bolívar, Amazonas, Nueva Esparta, Monagas, Sucre, Anzoátegui, Apure, Táchira and Essequibo.

Meanwhile, meteorologist Luis Vargas reported on his X account that another low-level disturbance would be entering the country tomorrow. “It has not yet been analyzed as a tropical wave,” said the climatologist.

He added that the eighth trough of the rainy season has already left the African coasts. Given that, he anticipated that it would touch national soil next Sunday.


Teams from the Mayor's Office of the Libertador municipality of Caracas were deployed on Monday with a day of comprehensive maintenance and cleaning of mixed waste in the Agua China stream, located in the upper part of the Las Milagrosas sector, Macarao parish.

Mayor Carmen Meléndez stated that the activity was carried out to give continuity to the 2024 Rain Plan that is being developed in the city.

He added that his administration is responding to reports from Caracas residents regarding incidents that could arise in the capital.
