Menéndez: grandparents have a leading role in the Homeland Plan

Minister for Planning held a meeting with grandmothers and grandfathers in San Juan de Los Morros

The sectoral vice president and Minister of Popular Power of Planning, Ricardo Menéndez, held a meeting with the grandparents of the Abuelos de la Patria Geriatric Day Care Center in San Juan de Los Morros, Guárico.

At the center, Menéndez shared with the older adults and listened to their ideas.

For the minister, the treatment of older adults is an emblematic issue of President Nicolás Maduro's management.

“You can see the president's vision of protecting this fundamental group of the population, and above all the vision of development of each of the vertices,” he said.

He indicated that one of the aspects that has impressed him the most is the call of the people to exercise the 7T plan, “how each of the circles of grandparents feel committed in each of the vertices and feel like part of a work team in the exercise of direct democracy, that is, that hope, that construction is perceived.”

He stated that what is coming “is just a sample of what the development of the entire 7T plan will be like and what awaits us around 2030.”

Last May, the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, announced the launch of the Great Grandfathers and Grandmothers Mission, which will aim at the social protection of the elderly.
